The results from our spelling revision test should be in the back of the children's homework books. The pattern that generally caused the most difficulty was the 'ible' and 'able' endings.
Our spelling focus for this week is words containing double consonants. Some of these are tricly and there is no set pattern or rule to follow so the children will have to come up with unique ways of remembering that they contain a double letter. We have discussed this in class. The word lists are attached at the bottom.
Numeracy - For Factors there is another powerpoint to view with questions set after each section which need to be recorded in their homework book please.
Multiples, Fractions and Percentages - I have set a mental arithmetic style paper for them to have a go at completing with you and in addition some long multiplication questions to answer. The method we are using in school is given as an example at the bottom of the sheet and is quite staright forward.
Literacy - In light of the new punctuation and Grammar test the children will be sitting this year, I have set some questions for them to answer in their homework books which are similar in style to the sample test material that has been published. I would like the children to just have a go and see how they get on. If they find any section too hard then they should not worry and just highlight it for me in their book so I can make sure we go over it together in class.
Enjoy the snow if it arrives at the weekend!
